When Tomás was a child, he lived in Springfield with his mom and his grandfather. On Saturdays, his grandfather took him to the park. Tomás always went up the slide, but he was afraid of the big swing. His grandfather bought him a strawberry ice cream and told him stories about his childhood in El Salvador. One Saturday, while Tomás was eating his ice cream, it started to rain. The two of them ran home laughing. Today Tomás is seventeen and he doesn't go to the park anymore, but he still remembers those afternoons with his grandfather.
