Guía del profesor · Teacher guide (≈ 55 min)

Pacing guide: Interpersonal · Interpersonal · Grammar: Commands + object pronouns in conversation · Product: Small-group discussion

  1. Modelo (8 min): Play the dialogue once; students listen for 3 pieces of advice. Second time: students raise a hand on each command with a pronoun (cuéntame, no lo tengas, no te compares, concéntrate…).
  2. Frases útiles (8 min): Vocabulary cards with audio, then the chips of empathy phrases. Students choose two phrases they'll use today and write them on a sticky note.
  3. Práctica rápida (6 min): Fill-ins on reflexive commands with pronouns — the key grammar for today's conversations.
  4. Tarjetas de rol (10 min): Pairs, 2 minutes per card, switch roles. Circulate and note good examples of commands + pronouns to share at the end.
  5. Ruleta (9 min): Groups of 3–4 (the product: small-group discussion). Each student answers, the others react with a phrase from the chips and add a follow-up question.
  6. Seguimiento (6 min): Speaking checklist with a 3-minute timer: each group agrees on a «Top 5» list of strategies for our school.
  7. Autoevaluación (4 min): Self-assessment scale, silently.
  8. Boleto de salida (4 min): MC + confidence.

Keep the tone supportive and general: students talk about everyday stress (exams, sports, sleep, phones), not personal crises, and nobody has to share anything personal — the role cards are fictional. Before class, check with your school counselor and know your referral process. If a student discloses something serious, follow your school's protocol. Recycles negative tú commands (Day 66), reflexive commands and double pronouns (Day 72) and doler (Day 68).

Jayden, ¿estás bien? Te veo muy cansado.
Jayden, are you OK? You look really tired.

Honestly, not really. I have three tests this week and I slept very little last night.
Sofía
Ay, lo siento. Cuéntame, ¿qué te preocupa más?
Oh, I'm sorry. Tell me, what worries you most?
Jayden

The chemistry one. I study, but then I look at my phone and lose an hour.
Sofía
Te entiendo, a mí me pasa igual. Antes de estudiar, pon el teléfono en otro cuarto. No lo tengas en la mesa.
I get it, the same thing happens to me. Before you study, put your phone in another room. Don't keep it on the table.

Buena idea. ¿Y si me pongo nervioso durante el examen?
Good idea. And if I get nervous during the test?
Sofía
Respira hondo tres veces, despacio. Y no te compares con los demás. Concéntrate en tu examen.
Take three deep breaths, slowly. And don't compare yourself to others. Focus on your test.
Jayden
Tienes razón. También necesito desconectarme un rato.
You're right. I also need to disconnect for a while.
Sofía
¡Claro! Sal a caminar o escucha música. Y si el estrés no se va, habla con la consejera. Ella ayuda mucho.
Of course! Go for a walk or listen to music. And if the stress doesn't go away, talk to the counselor. She helps a lot.
Jayden
Gracias, Sofía. ¿Me explicas el problema cinco de la tarea?
Thanks, Sofía. Will you explain problem five from the homework to me?
Sofía
Sí, te lo explico ahora. ¡Vamos a la biblioteca!
Yes, I'll explain it to you now. Let's go to the library!
