Recycles comparatives and superlatives (Days 51–52, 73) and Day 84's survey language (la mayoría). Also uses the present perfect and Day 87's subjunctive in the writing frame. Avoid generalizations: remind students that the Spanish-speaking world includes 20+ countries and that Massachusetts teens are also very diverse. The creators in the reading are fictional examples.

If you have friends in Spain or Latin America, you've surely received a voice message. In many countries, people prefer sending voice messages instead of writing. They're faster, more personal and sometimes longer than a song!
Another very common custom is the family group chat. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in different countries share photos, news, jokes and, every morning, «Good morning!» images. For many families who live far apart — in Lawrence and Santo Domingo, in Madrid and Quito — the group is as important as an in-person gathering.
Young people also create content in Spanish. For example, imagine «Cami Cocina», a girl from Lima who posts Peruvian recipes in one-minute videos, or «Profe Tomás», a student from Mexico City who explains math with humor. Many real creators from Spain and Latin America have millions of followers around the world, and some stream video games, music or sports live.
But not everything is the same everywhere. In some countries mobile data is expensive, so many young people wait for wifi to watch videos. And in many families the sobremesa is still sacred: the phone stays away from the table.
