- Observa el patrón (7 min): Read the comments on the news post aloud; highlight. Ask what the highlighted verbs have in common with Day 102.
- La regla (7 min): Table of emotion expressions; stress that me alegra/me preocupa work like gustar (Day 8). Contrast same subject (infinitive) vs. different subject (subjunctive).
- Explorador (7 min): Focus on haya, pueda, desaparezca, siga. Pairs race the challenge.
- Ejemplo guiado (5 min): Two step-by-step examples; students predict each step.
- Práctica (10 min): Fill-ins individually; MC whole class with fingers.
- ¿Mito o realidad? (6 min): Fingers vote; discuss «ojalá» and same-subject infinitive.
- Úsalo (9 min): Headline roulette: a student reads a headline, partner reacts with an emotion expression + subjunctive, then a follow-up.
- Boleto de salida (4 min): Exit ticket + two feeling sentences.
Builds on Day 102 (impersonal expressions) and Day 8 (gustar-type verbs). Avoid «siento que» as an emotion trigger: «siento que» can also mean «I feel/sense that» + indicative. Use «lamento que» or «siento mucho que» instead. «Ojalá» comes from Arabic («if God wills»); a nice culture note from the Spain/al-Andalus connection.

@andrea: What lovely news! I'm glad the turtles are coming back to the beach in Humacao. @kevin: Yes, but it worries me that people leave trash on the sand. It's sad that there's so much plastic in the sea. @grandma_carmen: It surprises me that so many young people help as volunteers. I'm proud of them! @diego: It bothers me that some hotels have such bright lights at night. I hope the government does something. @andrea: I hope the turtles can come back every year. I love seeing this news.
Después de una emoción + que + otro sujeto → subjuntivo. Pero en «Me encanta ver», la persona que siente y la que ve es la misma → infinitivo.
Emoción + que + otro sujeto → subjuntivo.
Me alegra que las tortugas vuelvan. Me preocupa que la gente deje basura.
La emoción no presenta un hecho nuevo: reacciona a una situación. Por eso usa el subjuntivo, aunque la situación sea real.
Emotion + que + a different subject → subjunctive. The sentence reacts to a situation rather than reporting it, so it uses the subjunctive even when the situation is real.

El subjuntivo de hay es haya.
