Guía del profesor · Teacher guide (≈ 55 min)

Pacing guide: Interpersonal · Interpersonal · Grammar: Future in conversation · Product: Career interest survey

  1. Modelo (8 min): Poll first. Play the dialogue once without English, then with EN. Students find 3 future verbs and 2 gustar-type verbs. Ask: ¿Qué carrera le interesa a Camila? ¿Por qué?
  2. Frases útiles (6 min): Read the phrases chorally. Students choose 3 phrases they will use today and write them on a sticky note.
  3. Encuesta (9 min): Students sort the career-interest statements, then mark which ones are true for them. Pairs compare: «A mí me importa ayudar a la gente. ¿Y a ti?»
  4. Tarjetas de rol (10 min): Pairs draw a card, prepare 30 s, then talk for 2 min. Switch roles. Cold-call 2 pairs to perform one card.
  5. Ruleta (8 min): New partners. Spin, answer in full sentences + detail; partner must react and ask one follow-up question.
  6. Busca a alguien que… (7 min): Students circulate with paper grids, asking in the tú form (future and gustar-type verbs). Debrief: ¿Quién estudiará Medicina?
  7. Autoevaluación + salida (7 min): Scale self-assessment, then exit MC and confidence check.

Career interest survey = the sort + bingo. Collect the paper bingo grids as the product. Recycles gustar-type verbs + indirect object pronouns (Day 8), the future (Day 142), the conditional for politeness/hypotheticals (me gustaría, Unit 7) and profession vocabulary (Day 141). Remind students that interesar/importar agree with what follows: me interesa la medicina / me interesan las ciencias.

Oye, Diego, ¿ya sabes qué estudiarás después de graduarte?
Hey, Diego, do you already know what you'll study after you graduate?

I think so. I'm really interested in computers, so I'll study programming.
Camila
¡Qué bien! ¿Dónde te gustaría trabajar?
Great! Where would you like to work?
Diego
En una empresa de videojuegos. Pero primero iré a una universidad comunitaria para ahorrar dinero. ¿Y tú?
At a video game company. But first I'll go to a community college to save money. And you?
Camila
A mí me importa mucho ayudar a la gente. Seré enfermera, como mi tía.
Helping people matters a lot to me. I'll be a nurse, like my aunt.
Diego
¿De verdad? ¿No te molestan los turnos de noche?
Really? Don't night shifts bother you?
Camila
Un poco, pero mi tía dice que vale la pena. Además, hablo español, y en los hospitales de aquí necesitan enfermeras bilingües.
A little, but my aunt says it's worth it. Plus, I speak Spanish, and hospitals here need bilingual nurses.
Diego
Tienes razón. Seguro que encontrarás trabajo muy rápido.
You're right. I'm sure you'll find work very quickly.
Camila
¡Ojalá! Y tú harás el próximo videojuego famoso, ¿verdad?
I hope so! And you'll make the next famous video game, right?
Diego
¡Algún día! Te prometo que serás la primera en jugarlo.
Someday! I promise you'll be the first one to play it.
