Pacing guide: Interpretive Reading · Interpretive · Grammar: Si clauses in context · Product: Reading check

  1. Antes de leer (8 min): Poll first. Vocabulary cards with audio. Students write a prediction: what 3 things does every job ad include?
  2. La lectura (12 min): First read: students skim and decide which ad they would apply to (no dictionary). Second read: aloud with audio; students tap glossed words. Teacher translation only if needed.
  3. Ideas principales (6 min): Individual MC, then compare with a partner and justify with a line from the text.
  4. Detalles (10 min): Sort the details by ad (pairs race), then complete the si-clauses taken from the ads.
  5. Cultura (8 min): Read the key ideas on products/practices/perspectives. Quick discussion in pairs: should a CV include a photo? Why or why not?
  6. Reflexión (6 min): Students choose one ad and explain why it fits them, using si + present → future.
  7. Boleto de salida (5 min): Exit MC + confidence check.

All four ads are original texts written for this lesson; companies are fictional. Recycles si + present → future (Day 144), professions (Day 141), the future (Day 142) and impersonal se (se busca, se valorará; Unit 3). Preview for Day 146: the Lawrence ad ends with «Buscamos a alguien que tenga paciencia y trate…» — if students notice the subjunctive, tell them that tomorrow they'll learn why.
